One month post-op Band to Bypass and feeling exhausted and sleepy all the time.

Recommended Posts

I am one month post op today and I did really well thru surgery and recovery. Diet progressed great will little problems. But in the last week or so I have been sleeping a lot and so so exhausted all the time. Almost not able to get out of the chair.....watching movies all the time. Got my nites and days mixed up like a baby from sleeping all the time.....naps and more naps.

Does any one have any suggestions to get me back to having energy and enthusiasm? I have lost 28 lbs and love that part!! Taking my fluids, Protein, Vitamins, B-12 and Calcium.........

SUGGESTIONS PLEASE................

Are you getting enough Iron? Although most bariatric sites and even drs. don't mention it, I learned from a nutritionist on a Facebook board that you need to have poly or heme Iron because ferrous isn't absorbed properly. I buy one called Feosol Bifera Iron. You will also feel better once you can get more calories in.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
