Gastric Sleeve Surgery went Great!

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery yesterday morning, July 1. It took longer than expected because my gallbladder was inflamed. I had my lap band and gallbladder removed, hiatal hernia repaired, and the gastric sleeve.? I feel sore, specially where they've removed my port.

So far so good! My doctor is amazing!

Congrats, @@lisaluvsgreys, and welcome to the other side!! Your body's been through a lot; take it easy on yourself. :)

LOL, @, Day 2 was the worst for me! Everything (slowly) got better after that. I'm 2 weeks out today, and I'm actually starting to feel like myself. Thank goodness!

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate your support! I'm feeling very sore from where they removed my port. It feels so good to have the band out of me!!!

I just did the swallow test, and my sleeve looks great! No leaks! Waiting for clearance from the doctor, so I can drink some water!! I've been gargling and swishing with Water to keep my mouth dry. Cannot wait to chew ice and sip water!!!

See my stomach that small was wild! My doctor used sutures rather than staples.

With my surgery (sleeve+hernia repair) my doc had me start drinking Water 3 hours out of recovery and Protein starting at 7 hours out. Up until day 3, everything went down well but on day 3 I threw everything up and also had the most pain. But it only lasted one day and then it was back to normal. I definitely hope it doesn't happen to you!

Yikes!! I just had my first liquids almost 24 hours after my surgery. Clear Liquids for 3 days, Protein Drinks on day 4. I'm going to try to stick with liquids as long as I can.

Doing great! A bit tired of liquids! I've heard that so many people have trouble drinking Water. I've had no problem drinking any liquids.

I'm wondering if the is normal.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
