Decided to stop weighing!

Recommended Posts

Only weighing on Mondays from here on out!! I'm 4 weeks out and down about 15-20 lbs I find that the daily fluctuations in weight from 1-5 lbs just upsets me!!!!! Ugh!

I feel your pain! lol I weigh 2-3 times a week just because I get a sudden urge just to check but I go with what I get every sunday. It really does fluctuate too much from day to day! Good luck!

I'm also 4 weeks out and struggling with daily fluxuations. Thought I was obsessed with the scale before the surgery. Tuesday's my day.

Me, too. I have to remind myself it took me a lifetime to get here, it won't all change over night.

Whew! I thought it was just me getting frustrated with my scale. I had my 2 week post op on Monday and got the green light to start full liquids. The doctor said that once my calorie intake increases that the weight will come off. I was only getting in 300-400 calories during my 2 week clear liquid stage so I guess we'll see how it goes. I feel like I'm constantly reminding myself to eat these days. Why couldn't that have happened years ago??

Because you still had your entire stomach sending your brain hunger signals all the time lol :)

I am just a little over 4 weeks out (surgery June 8, 2015) and only weighed myself when I got home from the hospital and had gained so much Fluid from surgery(7 lbs) thst I made the decision to only weigh myself monthly so when I weighed myself at 4 weeks I was pleasantly surprised I had lost 20 lbs! I don't want to get discouraged by stalls, etc, so I'm concentrating on how my clothes fit and how good I feel instead. It's really a freeing feeling to not be so tied to the scale!!!!

Good luck!!

I am a scale junkie and its like crack to me...right now I am in a two week stall and I am really pissed at my scale. I may sit it outside in the Florida heat when I get home and let it sweat!

I only weigh at my dr appointments. I refused to let the scale have power over me. Follow your plan, get your Protein and fluids and the weigh will come off. Good plan on your part. Best of luck

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
