Hi All! I'm scheduled for August 6th. I agree that time seems to be crawling by. My surgeon has me starting the shakes/liquid diet a week from tomorrow. I'm tempted to pig out on all my favorite junk foods that I'll never eat again (at least not for a LOOOONG time) but I know I'd hate myself afterward. It's taken me months to lose 10 lbs and I'm sure without too much effort I could gain it back in a week! Been reading about the regret some folks feel immediately post surgery, like they've made a huge mistake by getting sleeved. Also heard from folks in a local sleeve support group to expect substantial Hair loss. Trying to stay positive and feel empowered about doing this but definitely a little scared. Can anyone relate??

I totally can relate to you.

I think I have already written somewhere on here, but I am 8/3 and really getting nervous, excited, scared, worried, all those emotions that I guess are normal. Lifestyle change is going to be weird, hopefully only for a little while. Worried about not drinking enough. Never worried before about getting in enough nutrients or liquids, going to be different for sure. This pre-op is not too bad, but I m having some stomach issues with the Protein Drinks, so the RD recommended Vega, just tried it, oh my gosh, one of the worst things I have ever tasted. Gets me so upset too, these Protein powders aren't cheap and now what do I do with it. Well good luck to all

I'm August 17th and my surgeon requires a 3 week full liquid diet as well. Today is my first on it and I'm just praying to get through this. 3 weeks until surgery, seems so far away but I think it will be here before I know it.

How many calories are you guys supposed to stay under during your pre-op liquid diets. I'm genuinely kinda afraid to pass out somewhere

I'm scheduled for 7th Aug! I'm so excited but hate telling people I'm having my surgery. Everyone is so negative about it, most people believe I don't need it and I'm too young. I'm 21, 244lbs and 5ft7 and self paid. It's so hard to help others understand how I feel about myself when nobody wants to listen, has anyone else been in this boat? I'm on jelly and clear Soup diet and my 1st day has gone great ????x

I'm sitting in a Walmart waiting for my friend to finish shopping. I've been people watching as I sit here. Is it bad that I want to walk up to the super morbidly obese woman using the cart (that is barely carrying her weight) and say something about bariatric surgery? She is young - or at least she has young children. Her little boy was trying to push her chair so she'd move. ????

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
