I'm 10 weeks postop I've lost 42 lbs my clothes in my closet doesn't fit pants falling down even with a belt shirts/blouses falling off the shoulder & most of all intimate clothing ....it's all gravy but I went out over the weekend to buy a simple dress/skirt and they were the too big or too small, before the sleeve I was wearing a 16/18 pant 2x/3 blouse....so I'm depressed about shopping for clothing

Man, I know how you are feeling about this. There appears to be huge differences between XXL & XL in mens clothing as well. I personally have only been shopping at the Thrift stores or Goodwill. So far I have gone through a pair of pants about every three weeks. I mean; I'm not complaining or anything, but it would get expensive if I were to buy clothes at a retail store!

Don't fret! Even people who are at goal have that kind of day shopping sometimes. I swear I thought I was being punked one day at Marshall's. I had about 5 shirts to try on and not only did not a single one of them fit me, but one of them I couldn't get my head through the head opening and one of them I went to put my arm in the sleeve, and there was no sleeve. It's like the store got a giant batch of defects and I managed to try on every one of them. Sometimes we just have a bad shopping day. Don't worry, I'm sure the next time you go try things on you may have the opposite problem- when you have too much stuff and your credit card cries a little. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
