Started diet today - I'm dying

Recommended Posts

Y'all. I am starting this low carb diet today... been on it a total of what, 4 hours? I'm ready to call the *waaaaaahmbulance* :P

All joking aside, I feel like CRAP! Whenever I low carb, I always feel like I've been run over the first few days until ketosis kicks in - this is why I never low carb. LOL!

I have no idea why I'm posting, other than to be a titty baby & whine a little. LOL

My co-worker had to go on the liquid diet two weeks prior to her sleeve and was miserable for the first two days. By day three though, she was golden. Hang in there! :D

I started my mostly liquid diet yesterday! I feel like I might actually be dying! Hahah! Hopefully the day three goldenness will apply to me as well. I need it. I still have another four days work at school before the summer holidays begin.

Haha, your title "I'm dying" made me laugh. You will get through it! I've been trying to eat less today than I did this weekend and I'm eating normal food, but I'm hungry, and cranky, and I might be dying as well, lol.

Hope the day goes fast for you!

Your title also made me laugh. You've got this. Day 3 it really does get better, it did for me too. Keep your eyes on the prize and know that after surgery you won't even be able to eat a full meal, you will look back amazed! Good luck!

We all just need to whine and vent sometimes! No need to apologize. The pre-op diet is teh suck and we all know it. Hang in there! This is where the true test of your patience begins and you are going to need a LOT of that in the coming weeks/months!

@@RNsleever715 I know what you mean. When I switced over to Ketosis I felt really bad for a few days. After that I felt great. I lost a lot a weight following that plan though. I made it through the liquid phase easily after that. I'm sitting at the OCC as we speak. I'm waiting for my turn in surgery. You can do it!

@@JamieLogical The patient ahead of me just went in for surgery. I've got my I.V. in and some happy drugs. It won't be long now.

Oh, it's all downhill from here. The happy drugs will take care of any of your last minute jitters and soon you'll be under. Coming out of the anesthesia sucked pretty hard core for me. Make sure you ask for some ice chips to suck on, because your mouth/throat will be sore and dry, but you won't be able to drink anything yet.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
