I am 15 months out of having my vsg. I have fallen off the wagon and do not know where to start over again ???? I am down 93 pounds but I know I could have lost more. I've lost interest in exercising and doing 5ks. I feel like I've let not only myself down but my family as well. I just need some encouragement and I at this point, I do not have it. I hope maybe someone out there has had the same experience (unfortunately) and could give me some help or advice ????

I haven't experienced that yet but you are not alone. I have read your story a few times on here and what I have seen are recommendations to go back to basics. Some do their pre-op diet again for a few days to tighten things up, some do the 5 day pouch test and some just go back to measuring and planning all meals.

First realize you are human and this is a process. We are not perfect and the biggest thing at this point is you have identified the problem. It IS fixable. Good luck and start over before you gain much back and have to re-lose it!

I am also going through this with my weight loss journey. I'm down 91 lbs but I fluctuate 3lbs or so. I hate to exercise but my job requires me to go up and down the school bus stairs. I am a school bus monitor. I will be done with school in 2 days and fear not getting the exercise I need. I know how you feel

I haven't got to your stage yet, but to encourage you just pick up where you left off. When you fall off just get back up. Take it one day at a time and know it gets better. My surgery is 6.23 Tuesday. If you can go through the diets and after you can conquer the world!! Hang in there!!

It's harder than I thought ???? I thought I could control the psychological aspect of it, but I guess I was wrong. I told myself this weekend that starting tomorrow, I will start over and begin another new me ????

@@connor0331 I wish you the best of luck with your new beginning. At least you've caught yourself early, before putting any weight back on. That's a huge accomplishment, just in and of itself. You have a chance to turn things back around and not deal with the frustration of having to re-lose weight you've already lost. Stay strong though these first couple of weeks and I bet you can get back into positive habits again pretty naturally.

It's never too late to start over and ask for help. You have support from people on this site but don't forget about your other resources: your surgeon, NUT, bariatric support groups, psychologist/therapist, etc.

My daughter gave me a quote that I just love. "You don't drown by falling in the Water, you drown by staying there".

Hi @@connor0331, I've seen many people talk about having success getting back on the horse with the 5-Day Pouch Test, which as I understand it, kind of runs you through the eating stages in 5 days, and resets your restriction. Here's a link to the web site. Take a look and see if it might help. Good luck!!!

Im trying the approach of incorporating fitness in amongst my everyday routine and finding active things to do that I enjoy. So I took up boxing and now also run a few sessions a week with friends to help keep me motivated and also fell in love with kettlebells. You get amazing full body workouts and I find em fun.

I also use resistance bands whe n im gaming with friends at my desk and do a few sets in between matches or when I die. This way I dont have set "workout" times.

I also learnt to not beat myself up if I slack off here and there....we are all human and we slip up most of us are on point 100% of the time.

And hey....if you havent gained anything thats better then gaining xD

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
