I just feel that weighing myself everyday does more harm then good. I definitely agree with everyone here on why you should weigh yourself daily, but I find that I'm obsessing to much on the number, and want to throw my scale out the window...lol...so to prevent doing that I just need a break from weighing myself. Still gonna stay on track but just not going to weigh myself.

I weigh myself every morning and log the data into a spreadsheet so I can plot the data in a graph.

I think that's good for you, and you know what's best for you :) I didn't mean to imply that you should figure out how to weigh yourself daily. I meant to back up your statements, because I agree, it can do more harm than good if you can't get past the daily number. If it upset me every time I got on the scale and was unhappy with the number, I wouldn't do it either. There is no one right way to get the job done, for sure!

Wow. I am amazed at the discipline of weighing and graphing. Kudos to you. I only weigh myself at my surgeon's office because I want to use the same scale. It's not important enough for me to buy a scale and sync with that. I go mostly by how my clothes fit. The important part for me is my health issues improving. I've improved in so many areas (HBP- down to 1 pill vs 4, sleep apnea - gone, Diabetes - off insulin shots and down to 1 pill a day, cholesterol down) that's what excites me. I'm 9 weeks out and saw my surgeon yesterday and was surprised I had lost 42 lbs. It felt kind of like being pregnant for 9 months and waiting until the birth to see if it's a boy or girl. It felt great! My hopes to all of you that your journey be joyfilled.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
