It really is up to you, if you want WLS. My pcp told me to look into it. Doctors are not God and do not know everything you need. It is up to you to speak for yourself.

Good Luck!

I was always a very healthy person for my size. Aside from joint pain I didn't have issues. Even my asthma is controlled without medicine so I didn't go to the Dr much. Last year on 6/19 I went to my PCP just to refill my prescription. Sitting there I just blurted out "I've been thinking about Lapband surgery. What do you think." He looked straight at me and said he'd support me 100% and do whatever I needed to make it happen. He gave me a referral that day and I was meeting my surgeon less than a month later.

I truly consider that man to be my hero and for that day to be the 1st day of my new life. Could not love him or my surgeon more than I do.

My PCP was the one that told me to have WLS.

I simply said to my GP that I am wanting to explore the option of getting the gastric sleeve, and if he knew any surgeons that he would recommend, my GP gave me some basic info on the sleeve and wrote me a referral for my surgeon, he was more than happy to help me

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
