Hey! So today is my first day on my 14 day pre-op liquid diet (protein shakes, broth, Water, Jello, and popsicles) and it's only 2:00 (Boston) and I think this is gonna be tougher than i thought. I don't know if I'm actually hungry or if it's knowing that I can't "chew" thats the tough part. Reality check will set in when I have to prepare dinner for my family.

I was just going to mention ice -- if you have Sonic drive-ins near you, they have soft crushed ice - I'd go get several large cups (yes, they thought I was weird, lol), but it was cheap and helped with missing chewing and crunching - :o)

It's rough. The first couple of days with the headaches and the fatigue setting in, especially. Hang in there. It's only temporary!

The first two days are rough, but then your hunger diminishes. Try drinking warm broth - that's what got me through.

And let somebody else cook dinner for the family - cooking dinner while on a liquid diet would be torture!!!

I am starting my liquid diet today and so far I'm ok but it's only 10am. I noticed I wasn't hungry at all yesterday but I was eating out of boredom. I'm still not hungry but boredom is starting to set I

My husband just finished week 1 of his 2 week post op diet. For the first 3-4 days he was grouchy and fatigued, but by day 4 or 5 he started to regain energy and wasn't quite as irritable. Hang in there. I realize that this is extremely difficult but remind yourself of the road ahead and the goals that you have for yourself. I start my pre-op diet in 3 weeks, and have been on a ketosis diet before, so I'm not looking forward to the restriction.

I'm on day 5! It gets so much better. broth is what I look forward too for dinner. Swanson makes flavored broths now. They are so good. Or I just strain a can of low sodium Soup. That adds a lot more flavor. :) good luck!

Ugh I started my 2 week pre-op diet today too and I'm getting real hungry! I need to stay focused. It's lunch time and all I can think of is food. I'm praying for self-control.

I did Keto before too but this is like extreme restriction, lol. I think it's just knowing that I can't eat that's the hard part. 2-6 pm is my tough time. The kids are home from school, they want a snack, then I have to get dinner ready. I'm gonna serve my family and then find something to do. Im hoping each day gets easier.

I'm on day 7 of a two week pre op, and honestly, taking my chewable Vitamin has been the highlight of my life this past week...LOL! It does get easier, though the first few days were miserable! Bout you'll get through it! And when I've been craving salt, chicken broth has really helped! I'm sure you'll do great! Good luck with your surgery!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
