Peg, I would call you NUT. The diet I was on for 2 weeks was different. I only had to do all liquids for 2 days prior. But I would say that ice cream has to be sugar free. But like I said check with your NUT. GOOD LUCK!!

How is everyone doing?? It wasn't as bad as I thought. I did 5 rounds around the floor in on and keeping my liquids down. I was so scared for nothing!

@kell778. Best advice I can give you is get that catheter out as soon as you can, once that's out, Walk like crazy. It really does help the gas pains. And stay on top of pain meds. Don't wait til you feel discomfort. Because once the pain is there it seems like forever to go away. Good luck to you. I haven't even seen weight loss yet and I'd do this again in a heartbeat. Good luck! Prayers sent your way.

My surgery went well. Im just having a bit of gas pain but it's not unbearable. Walking the floors as much as I can which makes me feel so much better. ????

I have very little pain. When I first came out of surgery it was more of being uncomfortable and painful. I was agitated and bitchy lol. Now I'm fine. I keep walking. I would definitely do it again.

And I just want to say that for the FIRST time in my life I am proud of myself. I've have had many accomplishments in my life, but this is the first time I am proud of ME. Choosing to do this was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my life. And now that the surgery is over and I'm doing great, I know I'm going to succeed. I hope that I can set an example for others who are struggling with weight. I am also very proud of everyone on this conversation. We did it!!! Now we have to stick to it. I am seriously so proud of you all!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
