I'll be 2 weeks post op on Monday. My doctor has me on clear and full liquids for 4 weeks. They gave me a list of things I could and could not eat but I'm wondering how many ounces am I supposed to have at a time. I don't want to hurt anything and right now I can eat 10 ounces of creamy Tomato soup(lowfat) in about 20 minutes. It doesn't hurt at all. The first week I could only do about 2 ounces at a time but now I take small sips and it goes down fine. I just want to make sure that I'm not doing anything wrong.

You are doing just fine. Your band is wide open and you do not have "the hour glass" that you will have when you start getting fills. Your stomach is healing and the swelling from surgery is going down that is why you can eat more than you could at first. Just be sure to follow your doctors orders to the T!!!! He tells you them for a reason. Deanna

Good job and congrats!!

Thanks for responding. If you don't mind me asking. . .How much weight did you lose on the liquid phase and how long was it? I've lost 10 pounds since surgery but I was hoping for more. I'm trying to decide if I am doing everything right. I have friend that lost 25 the first two weeks and I'm wondering if there is something else I should be doing. I really want to make this work for me. Do you lose more quickly after your fill? Sorry for all the questions and thanks again.

I actually have not had a fill. I have an appointment for Monday the 25th, but she will NOT give me one. I have lost another 20 pounds since last month. She only gives fills if you are not losing. I lost 10 pounds on the pre op diet. Then 20 pounds the first month. Then 20 pounds the next month. It will work for you if you are honest with what you eat and eat clean. By clean, I mean healthy. EXERCISE IS THE KEY!! I hate to admit it, but it really is. I love it now, but HATED IT when I first started doing it. Deanna

I have my first fill on July 5th. I was told during the 'mushy' stage that I should only eat 4 oz. of food per meal, so now that I'm on solid foods I've been sticking pretty close to that amount. I started at around 352, lost 23 or so pounds to qualify for the surgery, and now weigh 297.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
