Ahh congrats ! I just got my sleeve done on Thursday the 4th. :).

For My last visit before surgery with my doctor I spent most of the time filling out paper work ( consents and stuff like that ) , Then he weighed me and then we just sat and talked About the procedure and he gave me an opportunity to make sure I asked all my questions. I also took a "bariatric quiz " and he reviewed it with me so I was 100% comfortable with what I was starting :). Good luck you're going to do great.

My last visit was a check of all my vitals and a weigh in. I spent a few hours in class going over the process and the post-op diet. Then I met with the surgeon for any last minute questions, then I went to the hospital for my final pre-op. Easy breezy! Good Luck!

Congrats!! I had my surgery June 3rd. My weight the morning of my surgery was 222lbs and I now weight 211. My goal is 120-130. It would be amazing to get down to the 120s but if not 130 is ok for me!!

My visit with my doctor was the morning of my surgery because my flight didnt get in early enough the day before. He took my vitals and my weight. Asked me a few questions and pretty much just went through what was going to happen. They had me in and out!

Some advice: take before your surgery pictures so you can see in 6 months how far you've come :).

take advantage of the pain meds while in the hospital!

walk, walk, walk!! it helps with the gas!

prepare yourself to get bored and a little frustrated with the liquid diet. If you love food like I did, It has definitely been a challenge sticking with the liquid diet. But ive been telling myself everyday "I can do this, I will do this, and it will be all worth it!!"

I absolutely LOVE that only after a week and 11lbs lighter, I'm already feeling more energized, I can see the difference on certain parts of my body and this is only the beginning!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!

I'm so impressed that your surgery was 3 weeks ago and you've lost 50+lbs already!! I know everyone is different but are you walking on a treadmill? or any specific exercise routine daily? I would LOVE to lose that much by my 3rd week. I'm 1 week post op and ive lost 11lbs so far!

@

I don't think @@ShrinkingPeach has lost 50lbs in 3 weeks. And I also hope you don't expect to, either. It's not realistic.

To put it in perspective, I lost 50 pounds at 5 months.

I just don't want you to get the wrong idea. Your weight loss will slow down a little to a more realistic pace. Just so you know :)

The 56 pounds I have lost include my pre-op diet as well as weight lost after surgery. I have lost 12 pounds since surgery and am in the dreaded 3 week stall at the moment and have been for a week. Everyone is different and I started my ticker when I committed to this surgery and went for my consult. I started a high Protein low carb diet at that point as I knew that was what I would be eating after surgery. It also made the transition easier for me at pre-op.

I definitely do not want to mislead anyone into thinking that I lost all of that after surgery but I am glad I lost some before as that is now weight I don't have to lose post-op.

Good luck with your own personal journey!

Your weight and goal weight are right there with me. I'm in the "getting approved process now." I can't wait to see you post your progress! I sure hope that I can get approved and fleeced by August/Sept.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
