I just wanna masticate something! Haha

If you already feel that way, you should eat as much crunchy romaine as possible because that feeling will be worse after surgery. Last week after about 2 weeks of fluids, all I wanted was to chew something. It will be a long time before you'll be able to chew anything postop.

The Protein Shakes absolutely started making me nauseous! I was even taking nausea meds at that point twice daily. For me it didn't get better until I changed it up a bit. The way I was making my shakes is make milk ice cubes because I can't drink it just milky the way it is. I have a Ninja blender that has that personal cup and I ninja my shake to death with 4 cubes of "ice" and some reg Nonfat milk along with 2 Enspira Vitamins. I then put it in a Blender Bottle because with the Vitamin in it, the vitamin starts to settle to the bottom since it takes a while to drink. It started making me nauseous and I was struggling, then I saw a commercial for Silk light almond milk. It changed up the taste enough to make it better. I make that into ice cubes now. It may be worth a try!

Fridge pic!! Why was I too lazy to take it out!

I also bought Walden Farms no calorie chocolate Syrup but that didn't help when I tried but I did add it to a chocolate flavored shake. I will revisit it with the vanilla shake.

So funny you mentioned these things were on the top of my list I worried about. I specifically asked my boy if I smell and he said no. We've been together a long time and have no issues telling each other what it is. I never had any smelly urine or smelly breath- none of what I read on here. I've had people with me regularly and haven't seen anyone give me a side eye (I've been watching).

I never pooped anywhere either! You get up quickly after surgery and will be able to go to the bathroom when you start walking. Some of the people who did that were told to take laxatives the day/night before. Don't do that! I will confess I gave myself an enema that morning but I'm aware of how these affect me and wouldn't have done it otherwise. I would've been fine without it. You don't receive any meds that have anything to do with your bowels.

Back2barb u really eased my mind on those things! Thank you! Lol I worry about everything the closer I get to next wed, the more excited I get but I'm also terrified! What if my stomach leaks wen I get home? Will the plane ride home be hideous? I'm 30 yrs old. 5'6" an CW is 248

So I don't THINK I'm high risk... Yeah u can definitely tell I'm overthinking this all.

If your stomach leaks when you go home you would have to get medical care there, but you have a leak test there before you go home. I was scared about my tummy popping-I daydreamed that it popped! I just sipped small amounts at a time and checked my temperature repeatedly. The other thing is that you have a drain for 3 days. If any stomach bile/acid were leaking into the abdomen not only would you be extremely uncomfortable from the acid on your organs, but the drainage would be discolored. I loved the drain and was sad for it to come out. It eased my mind. They don't do endoscopy preop. I had a 2-3 hour car ride home for which I left a pillow in my car.

...Mind relaxing... Thank u! I have two connecting flights home but neither one will be quite 2 hours so I surely can make that work. And I already bought sippy cups because I have always been a gulper! And I think your idea of taking your temperature is great so I might just throw in a thermometer.

We aren't allowed to discuss price unfortunately. You can easily email them inquiring and they will give you the price, I was nervous to email thinking they would then not stop spamming me pressuring me to set a date. I can assure you that my contact Carolyn did no such thing.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
