Hi

I had my gastric bypass 2 years in nov and i lost 9 stone.

Recently ive noticed that i put back on a stone. ????

In the last year ive had half my kidney removed due to cancer and then my hubby of 24 years leaves me for someone else.

I sold the house and brought myself a little flat but i think i may have slipped back to my old ways of eating as im eating more and starting to eat the wrong food and not eat it probably.

Please can you help.

Debs x

First congratulations on losing an enormous amount. As you quote stones are you in the UK? (For our U.S. Friends 1 stone = 14lbs).

Emotionally you have been through a lot with the cancer and with the breakdown of your marriage. Are you still under medical supervision for the cancer if you are then ask to be referred for some therapy to help you cope with it all.

Practically, go back to basics with Protein first, drink your Water, no slider foods ( cakes, biscuits etc) and try to get some exercise in. To give a visual effect of your progress take 2 glasses and in 1 put 14 marbles/stones/pebbles (anything you can touch and move basically) as you lose each lb move a marble to the 'empty' glass (won't be empty long).

You can track your food, drink and exercise on a program/app called my fitness pal.

You are obviously a strong person to have got so far, though I appreciate you might not be feeling strong at the moment, you can get a hold of this and it is good you have asked for help and support before the gain gets any higher. Good Luck.

I think you have to use a computer to update a profile I don't think it cab done using a tablet (if that is what you are using).

Go back to your GP and ask them for some help - don't just take tablets off them ask if there is some therapy you can get. I believe they are offering some therapy that can be done online.

Does the hospital that did your WLS have any support groups you can join. I'm sure that would be glad to see you especially any new people in the group as looking at you they could see what can be achieved. You might even be able to be a mentor to someone who is just starting out and that 'responsibility' might help you curb your bad eating habits.

Congratulations on the weight loss well done.

in all that you have been through it may be a time to look in to speaking to a professional to emotionally deal with thoughts and feelings about all that you have gone through, as you maybe eating for comfort again.

I have found it cathartic to speak to my psychologist I was shy at first but I had a lot that I had bottled away and ignored with food.

I wish you all the best and my thoughts are with you :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
