l- 1/2c Pasta salad , few bits of tuna

s- 1.5oz cheddar w/6 trisketts

d- 3.5oz garlic talapia w/1/3c pea salad

today:

Breakfast - egg white omelet made with 2 egg whites, spinach, red bell pepper and onion

snack - peach flavored Protein drink

lunch - 5 oz honey vanilla greek style yogurt, 1 oz beef Jerky

dinner - 3 turkey and spinach meatballs topped with 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce

snack - 1 string cheese stick

I noticed lots of you eat beef or other Jerky...I would think that stuff is so dry and stringy it would get stuck. I am not very good at the chewing thing in the first place, and I end up in pain every other day or so. Is there a kind of Jerky that is better than others?

I'm not the one who said it first, mind you. I just chimed in that the other person wasn't the only one who thought that way. I'm not trying to criticize anyone! Definitely not trying to be rude. A lot of the choices made in this thread are very good choices, and have helped me get an idea of what kinds of meals I can have once I'm banded. But there are a few meal choices and daily diets that make me wonder why they bothered getting the band in the first place? I just think that Protein has a lot better forms than meatballs and Pork rinds.

This sounds like what your first response should have been, not the negative one you chimed in on. You will se once banded (or never banded) when you are TRYING to make life style changes, everyday is not going to be your IDEAL day. We post here to take accountability for what we are eating. Sometimes it helps to see it in writing what you're putting in your body. If most of us did this to begin with, we wouldn't have needed the band.

I only have 1 cc filled in a 10 cc band. I have absolutely no restriction...I have been going on willpower the last 2 weeks...and not very well I might add....the scale has not moved in 2 weeks. (I have appointment with the dr today to see if I can get another fill).

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I would imagine it will be harder to get beef jerky down once I have restriction. Again, I am only guessing.

I purchase beef jerky from whole foods...it's the whole foods organic brand and it is very tender compared to other store bought jerky's.

I am at full restriction and I do ok with jerky. Tiny bites and lots of chewing. It's really flavorful and good on Protein. You have to watch it though since it's also high in sodium.

The ostrich jerky that lulu mentioned is good though. I haven't had that brand I don't think but I get mine at OZ fitness formerly known as 24 hour fitness. I think ostrich meat is one of the highest meats for protein as well.

Yesterday at dinner i tried half of an egg roll and about 4-5 bites of rice and veggies. The meat was too chewy and I decided not to try to swallow it. About 10 minutes later, I was violently throwing it all up. It was awful. It seemed like 4 times more than I ate came back out. No more of that crap for me. Also, I may have to get half a cc taken out of my fill if this doesnt work for me.

First of all, thanks to everyone who post their daily menu. It is very helpful to the newly banded. (me!!)

For those of you who eat breakfast- what time do you eat Breakfast?

Also, I see that most eat at least one snack a day. Do you eat the snack because you are a little hungry or do you believe it helps with your metabolism?

TIA

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
