Today & Tomorrow are travel days as I leave my island paradise to return to the Midwest

I have attached 2 pictures below for those of you interested in the fruit I was eating - the little brown balls are the lychee and the dragonfruits (cousins) and the red ones are the rambuttan - I wish we had taken the picture the day we had first bought everything so you could see it all - but you get the idea.

Life starts now - I do love the food in Hawaii! Mong chong is tied with salmon as my favorite fish to eat. I have only ever been able to find it in hawaii - although I'm sure expensive gourmet stores could get it - I consider it something to look forward to (with the produce) every couple years when I get to go. It used to be a rubbish / nuisance fish that would get caught on the long deep lines fisherman use to catch big tunas. They are a very deep fish with a tender but meaty texture but extremely mild flavor - best of all worlds!

Thanks for sharing - I've never heard of it. Also thanks for sharing the pics of the dragon fruit. I've heard of lychee before and love to try new stuff. I'll be traveling to see my sister in CA in a few weeks and I am always amazed at the variety and different taste of the produce and fruit on the West coast. I can't even imagine what it must be like in Hawaii. Your posts read like a gourmet restaurant to me!:frown:

Ugh i'm in misery. Yesterday I woke up and could not eat anything at all...drinking was at a minimum...felt that fire feeling all day long. SO, today I went to get the fill i had put in last week removed. Feel better, but i'm so tired and weak since i haven't had anything to eat (and liquids today). oh the joy.

Has anyone else ever had that happen---just wake up a week after a fill and suddenly can't swallow? So weird.

Anyways, today:

b: iced chai tea latte (i need caf)

l: slim fast

d: maybe some Soup or something

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
