Confused. 1 day post op and hungry!

This is very strange. Had my op last night. Now 10am and my stomach is gnawing. Very confused by this. It isn't emotional hunger

Are you on an acid blocker? Acid can mimic hunger.

It's definitely not hunger. I have that gnawing also and its acid reflux. Ask your surgeons office about it. Mine put me on Prilosec for 14 days to help. Good luck!!

are you able to drink yet? I wasn't until I did the leak test. You may be thirsty :D

It's definitely not hunger. Like others have said, it may be thirst or acid. My surgeon prescribes a PPI for the first two months post-op. Another thing you will very likely experience in the coming days is head hunger. When you see commercials on TV, smell foods others are eating, or just have cravings for your comfort foods.

I don't think so but I can check. It may be lack of water thanks

we don't seem to have a leak test so drinking. Hoping the water will solve it

I felt like this for the first 7-10 days post op. My stomach constantly grumbling and I truly felt hungry anytime I wasn't drinking something. It even woke me up during the night it was so bad. Then magically around day 10 it just stopped. (I've been on a PPI since surgery). I don't even wake up hungry in the morning anymore.

I had that also and it will go away in time. Just take an acid blocker and ride it out. It seems like it will never end but i promise it will. I started feeling better with in the first month.
