Recommended Posts

:omg: HELP!!! I have ate my way home from Birmingham (3 1/2) hour drive today!! My surgerey is scheduled for the 27th, and I am excited, scared, ready to start my journey, wanting to get cold feet. You name it I am feeling it!!:faint:I am not hungry but I guess it is the fact I will not be able to have a lot of things, and especially my diet cokes:confused: Did any of you gain any weight before your surgery????????????????

Hi, I think most of did the last supper thing and gained a few pounds before pre-op diet if they had to do one. I remember making a list of all the things I wanted to eat before surgery thinking I will never be able to eat them again. Well now that I know better I will be able to have most of the stuff that was on my list, but just a small amount of it.

Hi, I dont know how many " final " meals I had. Now that I am 12 days post op I am glad I did. I had what I wanted and now its in the past. It was the only time I didnt feel guilty for over eating I knew that would be it and I wanted to go out with a bang LOL It normal what you are feeling I was banded on June 5th and was so scared. I am so glad that I did it now today I feel so good. I had a hard time with the gas, make sure you research ideas on how to handle that end of it then you will be ready and will know what to do to make it easier. Good luck to you !

Hi! You are feeling completely normal. I felt like I was eating things for the last time. The diet pepsi was a major hurdle but I really think that during the first couple weeks after surgery, I detoxed off of them and I am no longer craving them. It feels good to take those little steps toward a healthier future! Good Luck!

Aloha everyone! This is my first post and I thought this is the place to start. I've seen a nutritionist about 2 weeks ago and she put me on a lo-cal, hi-protein 6 meal per day diet. Honestly I've only done it right for two days b/c I end up eating a lot of what I think I'll be missing after surgery. I'm hoping to get banded in mid-July.Haven't seen the psychologist yet though. I also have to do an EGD before they'll do the surgery. Anyone know what that's about?

The EGD is a scope they put down your throat with a little camera on it to view your esophagus and probably the opening to your stomach....don't know why some docs do it and some don't. My doctor has not requested one.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
