Think I may too...rainy day here. Have my first batch of BariBread cooling, so may have go make them too. I have some dry ranch mix...sounds like a good variation :)

CanyonBaby, Thanks for this conversation! It is definitely full of good advice. I don’t think of it as a formal snack bag, but I do make sure to have something available so I can eat if needed. At home, I always keep tons of fruit ready to eat – I love blueberries especially. Also, I have a lot of Greek yogurt. I try not to snack in the car unless absolutely necessary because that’s an easy way to down way to many calories if I start eating nuts or cheese while focusing on the road. Hard-boiled eggs are another quick snack, and beef Jerky, although I know it’s high in sodium.

Raw almonds, spicy dried edamame or string cheese

Single yogurts, strong cheese, raw pecans, cashews, I keep some organic turkey and roll up with some cream cheese, I found the turkey Jerky low sodium, cottage cheese, I can pretty much live on these items!

As someone who often berated themselves for simple food mistakes I am hoping this WLS will make up for all the times I thought energy bars were healthy. Replacement, made a little mixed nut Peanut Butter sans salt for myself. The more I bother to put on my glasses, the more I find those hidden ingredients: molasses, cottonseed oil, etc. Being that I am only four weeks out of VSG, my Vitamixer has found new life. Otherwise, I would just weigh 4 to 6 oz of unsalted mixed nuts and slowly chew and savor them one at a time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
