Hi all.....I'm Alexis. Was disheartened to find I was kicked out of my last support group from reasons unknown. A friend recommened this one. Still trying to figure out the app but like so far! Are you able to chat privately with other users? Share recipies/tips/advice??

Hi, I'm Fuzzy and also 4 weeks out. Down 31 and at the 3 week stall. I don't know if there is a private chat but would like to. I'm in Florida. You? I feel well; the only time I'm in pain is when I play bridge; that's due to the awful chairs. There is good news. I saw my regular doc and he cut my diabetic med down from 500mg 2x p/day to 250 once a day. I still have to push myself to get out and walk. I still haven't tried going back to the gym or yoga. How are you doing? If you reply I will see it show up in my email. Fuzzy

I'm down from 311-274. Haven't been cleared for physical activity by the surgeon yet. I'm up north in small town in northwestern ontario. I don't have pain unless my belly is giving me heck about what I ate. Haven't seen any of my doctors yet since I left hospital. I'm doing okay so far, struggling with water/protein intake and finding things I can eat that don't make me sick or get tired of easily.

Hi Alexis,

Welcome to the boards! Hopefully you will have a better experience here than on your past site. I don't know about a chat, but you can send private individual or group (5) messages. If you click on the persons name, it will take you to a place to set up a message.

I look forward to seeing you around here!

Amy

Hi Alexis! I won't be 4 weeks postop until next Wednesday but, like Fuzzy, I am at the 3-week stall. This site is awesome for support and I am finding lots of us who had surgery right around the same time. Welcome aboard! :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
