Recommended Posts

I am just about 2 months out and doing great. I miss eating fruits and veggies....do you eat them? If so, when and how much?

Thanks!

I eat banana. I mush a half of one to the consistency of baby food. it is delicious and binding if you know what I mean.

I try to eat vegetables, but fruits tend to make me sick. My sleeve doesn't like sugar of any form. If you are two months out, how much you can eat is dictated by how you feel. I try to incorporate vegetables into meals, so I'm not sure how much I can actually eat and I didn't eat a ton of veggies when I was close to where you are now just after surgery, so I don't have that perspective either.

You can eat any fruits and vegetables you want at this point, so experiment with what you like and you should be able to find what works best for you in no time.

I started eating cooked veggies around 2 months out. I only just recently started eating fruit, and when I do, I stick to the lower sugar fruit (berries). I will mix them into my yogurt, or just have a handful for a snack.

As far as veggies, I probably only eat a couple bites because I follow the Protein first then veggie rule. Most of the time I'm too full from the Protein to have too many veggies. I'm trying to incorporate more veggies in salads and Snacks to get more in.

I have always loved vegetables and have been eating them every day since I was cleared for all foods. The only problem I have from them is a bit of occasional gas. (But that won't stop me from eating them. I don't feel a meal is complete without my veggies.) fruit, however, I avoided until I reached goal weight. I know that for me, sugar is an issue and I didn't want anything to interfere with my weight loss. Now that I'm in maintenance, I do eat fruit, but I stick to fresh fruit in small amounts. No fruit juices. I haven't tried banana yet. Just a bit too high carb, for now.

I started veggies & fruit at two months. I can't each much veggies. As someone else posted, after eating the Protein, there's not a lot of room left but I do take a few bites.

I have a small Apple w/pb2 a few days a week. Love my honey crisp apples .

I am about 3 months out and I am so frustrated - seems like I can't eat more than a bite or two of anything. I tried one small bite of cantaloupe and was miserable for hours. Anyone else struggle with this?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
