10 days post op and still feeling nausious

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am 10 days post op and every night about 7:00, I start feeling nausious. It is a horrible feeling, like having the stomach flu. After suffering until bedtime, I wake up feeling fine. This has been going on for the last several days. Any suggestions? Thanks Doug

Hello I was banded on June 5th and I feel so sick at night, I have figured out that it is the gas that is making me feel like i have the flu becuase it rumbles and makes a horrible ache, I just posted a question about it and if I find out any info I will pass it on to you, just know that you are not alone I know exactly what you mean

Good luck its gotta get better:) Kim

Did your doctor give you any prescrips for nausea? Mine gave me one ahead of time to have filled before my surgery date. It's a phenergen gel that you put on your wrists and rub together and works great. I've had no nausea at all, even while in the hospital for the procedure. When I was there, they put a patch behind my right ear for nausea and also had me drink some horrible stuff that was also anti-nausea medicine. I've had no trouble in that area.

You might call & ask if they can prescribe something, if you don't already have it.

Good luck! I hope you feel better!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
