Ladies: Do you have trouble finding a good bra after wl?

Recommended Posts

I've lost a LOT of weight so I went in to get professionally measured. They measured me at a 34B, but because of all the loose skin on the side of my breasts, I had to be put in a C cup. The D was way too big, but now I'm getting frontal quad-boob, unless I wear one of those cast-Iron granny bras that halfway through the day just make it look like I have one big lump at the front, or separate them so they look like 1950s missiles!

Anyone else experience this issue? I've been taping my breasts recently to minimize the "jiggle" that causes it but I'd really love to know if its just me or if this is a common problem. I can't wait to have my breasts done!!

@LumpySpacePrincess Taping. Male runners do it. That is an excellent idea. Thanks for mentioning it.

Yes- I have a difficult time too. It's a challenge. I have yet to find a sports bra that actually keeps them from jiggling. I am so worried about how horrible they look when I run. The taping sounds like a good idea. What kind of tape do you use, does it hold up while working out?? Guess when we resort to tape we must be desperate. I am buying tape today.

I am not in a position to comment on the taping idea, because my starting point was quite different from yours, but after I lost the first fifty pounds, I was really deflated. So, I went to a foundation shop and got my first ever "professionally measured" bra. I had been wearing a 48 D and came down to a 40B at that point. I still have floppage under my arms.

I'm thinking of going to a Soma in my local high end mall. Anyone been to Soma and are their bras better than the average one?

At Nordstroms I was fitted with a panache sports bra, and I love, love, love how comfortable they are! They look a little intimidating straight out of the package, but give them a try, and I bet you will dig them as much as I do. Best ever!

I have lots of trouble! A 38 band is too loose, but a 36 band crests too much of a bulge. Firm fat was much prettier than flabby fat is. ????

it is definitely a challenge. i cant even tell you my bra size. they fit different. and always seem to fall out when i bend over. ive just gotten used to it, and chalked it up to the territory.

My size varies by manufacturer. At Vickie's I measure as a 32D and at Nordies a 34C and my favorite t-shirt bra is a 34B. Point is not to get set on a certain size bra, they all fit differently. The cut of the cup determines if I will have front boob. Push up and Demi cup bras always make me spill out. Recently I have been loving lightly padded bralettes.

Ok so i finally ventured in to a Soma's and I've gotta say i was nervous, and excited at being able to go into a normal undergarment store. I found a bra that is wonderful. The staff measured me was attentive and i was able to find a bra with perfect fit which is something I have not had in years. Worth walking into and trying some things on.

I have a different kind of problem. I was always small breasted (cup size) but wide (46 or 48 at my biggest). Now to find a bra that fits is a challenge. I'm a 40A and still decreasing in band size.....nearly impossible to find. Leading Lady has some good choices if anyone out there has a similar problem. I'm hoping once I get to 38 and under band size my dilemma will go away. Still have the deflation/skin at the sides issue like everyone else, though.

I have tried on a lot of bras. I had ginormous boobs which are now still a DDD or G cup depending on the bra brand and style. I either wear a 36 or 38 band. If I wear a 36 I need the G cup. Part of the problem is the loose skin around my arm pits which lops over in certain bra styles. I also think my breasts shrank a bit more over time, which is a good thing. I thin Nordstrom did the best job of fitting me and they have a big selection but are expensive. Thus I hunt for bras in Nordstrom Rack Marshals, and other discount stores.

It's hard on both ends of the spectrum it seems. I have the opposite problem--32DD or 30F. No one makes cup sizes that big with that small a ribcage!

Actually my niece is exactly your size, and I got her fitted at Nordstroms. They put her into Chantelle bras. I bought her some on eBay for almost half of what Nordstroms charges. Just a thought …

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
