sugar-free Jello or popsicles can help kill the cravings some, but the truth is, you are going to be hungry pretty much the entire time on the pre-op diet. It's very low calorie so you will crave food for energy and you still have 100% of your stomach, so you will never feel full. Hang in there!

What kind of sugar free Popsicles can I eat??

I got the original Popsicle brand sugar-free popsicles. They come in a yellow box.

I'm not sure what your pre-op diet consists of, but I was allowed three Protein shakes and one green salad with calorie-free dressing per day, along with sugar-free popsicles and Jello for Snacks.

I am on day five of liquids. I really have not been hungry too much. The second I feel a twinge I drink something. Water, broth, crystal light, coffee, vitaman Water zero, anything clear. The surgeons plan says "up to 6 shakes per day" but I have been getting by on 5 which I drink about 3 hours apart with coconut/almond milk. I also make each one a little bit different. The only issue I have had is a bit of a tummy ache and frequent bathroom trips (liquid in - liquid out!).

It isn't fun by any means but it is doable.

I'm on day 5. It's not been too bad. I'm honestly not hungry. I won't lie though, smelling food has been really hard. I have a family and I'm still cooking meals for them. That part had been tough.

I'm having the typical liquid staples. Protein Shakes, broth, strained Soup, Water, crystal light, etc...

I started preparing a pitcher of water a day with fruit pieces. Lemon and lime one day and orange and ginger another. I like the little added flavor to my water.

Let's talk about it!!! I swear since I started my preop diet I smell EVERYTHING! I also have not been terribly hungry, it's been mostly head hunger, and I've been able to talk myself down so far. Then again I'm only on day 3.

Are you allowed plain yogurt? It's considered a full liquid typically. I mixed plain Greek yogurt with a scoop of Protein Powder to have as dessert after my broth at dinner time. It was really filling (40g protein) and yummy. Helped get me though pre-op.

Yogurt is only my list from my surgeon, but I don't know how...it has so many carbs!

Get a light greek yogurt. The kind I buy (Danon Light & Fit) is 9 carbs and 12 grams of Protein.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
