This may have nothing to do with my sleeve surgery but thought I would throw it out there. I was sleeved Feb 10 and for the past few weeks have noticed a red rash developing on my neck. Never had it before. It gets red, hot and itchy. Usually a hot shower makes it go away. Last week I had an itchy eye and for the past 3 days the top eyelid is swollen, almost to the point of swollen shut. Allergy pills etc don't help. I have an appointment with my doc but just curious to see if anyone has experienced this. Wondering if its something to do with me not getting the same nutrients that I was consuming in my previous life. Thoughts?

Perhaps you have an allergy to post-op medications/vitamins? Best to see your doc!

I developed a rash on my legs and the backs of my hands--it got so bad that I wanted to find a Brillo pad to scratch! I went to urgent care and they said it's not shingles, scabies, impetigo, psoriasis or eczema, but they didn't know what it is. I've been using a steroid cream which seems to have quieted things, but it's not gone completely yet.

It looks worse than it is, but unfortunately it can be seen when I wear capris.

I may have to cave in and call a dermatologist....

Doc says it is some form of allergic reaction but is unable to prescribe me any steroidal treatment as it will be too harsh on my new stomach. Hope it just goes away on its own.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
