Is it normal to stop losing weight at 6 months out

Recommended Posts

Hi all I am 10 months and I stop losing weight at 6 months out and I am very concerned that I stop losing weight and I haven't lost anything for four months now, I developed a ulcer at 5 months out but that went at the last check up last month but I have a thin pouch?

It is hard to answer this question without knowing what you are eating drinking and your activity level. I am 6 months post op and still losing 2 to 3lbs per week.

I sure hope that does not happen at 6 months. I still have 55 to go. I have been told by my surgeon that you will get the most benefit in the first year. After that it all depends how hard you work for it.

@@tanichaphillips hi im almost 6 months out and i actually put on 2 lbs this week and this is due to TOM, i have struggled for about 2 weeks with no real loss. Having said all that, i know this is my own fault and i recognise that, i do not eat or drink "enough" to lose the weight and im working on changing it, its not easy but i know this is the key to losing it.

Are you eating / drinking enough? Calorie intake should be around 1000 i believe - someone pls correct me if i'm wrong!

I'm using my fitness pal it say I am getting 1100 calories a day. But my drinking side is poor I'm drinking a litre a day without being sick

Calories seem good, try and work on your fluids, i know myself this is easier said than done!

Wishing you all the very best on your weight loss journey xox

Hi I have problems when I don't spread out my Proteins over the day. Sometimes I eat them all at once or only twice per day. Since you have malabsorption with RNY, even though you eat the right amount of proteins you won't get them all unless it's portioned out across 3 or more times per day. If I don't get my proteins eaten correctly I don't lose weight.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
