Getting married in June 2016, sleeved coming May 2015!

Recommended Posts

I am so excited and nervous to start my weightloss journey this coming May 14 2015 when I will have my gastric sleeve procedure done. I really wish I had taken a sooner surgery date because now I'm so ready to get it done asap! My lovely fiancée proposed to me in December right before Christmas and now Im hoping to lose 100-125 lbs before my wedding next year! Is anyone else getting married after their sleeve procedure and hoping to drop some weight for their wedding???

Nope I did it after but now I weigh less than I did on my wedding day for our second anniversary Sunday! Win either way!

I am getting sleeved tomorrow and married in February 2016. I'm hoping to drop enough over the next several months to work up the nerve to go dress shopping! Putting it off as long as I can, so I don't have to have a lot of expensive alterations. Good luck! And congratulations!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
