I'm about 3 years out of surgery 100lb weight loss...so I occasionally have those days where I eat too much and pay for with pain that last hours and gas! Any suggestions as to what to do when this happens?

Interesting....in only 2 days out and was feeling great until I had Soup 8 oz over half an hour. I wonder if I ate too much! Ugh, that could be why I felt so bad.

It's hard to get this first two weeks straight with get enough fluids and don't drink too much at once.

I'm having the exact same issue! Just not sure how much to eat how often during this stage?? I'm 3 weeks out on Tuesday. I had my surgery on 3/31 and am so confused as to how much to eat and how often. Any suggestions welcome! My surgeon also approved me for soft foods so that's what I'm eating right now till my appointment next week.

2 years since surgery (98 lbs loss) and I would recommend go for a walk to get things moving in the right direction. It is very uncomfortable I know and I find that adding more into my system such as anti-acids or something else just adds to the discomfort. I hope this helps!

That in itself is reason enough to learn an important lesson....the pain!

Have you imagined what that pain might be?

Read enough posts here and you can get a good idea.

I now stop with earlier signs, before it gets to any pain.

Again, the band controlling my eating, from overeating.

As to how much to eat, and how often, it differs from person to person.

I eat not because I'm hungry, but because I know I need to.....as far as how much, all I can say I s very little.

If I somehow knew just how little food I can get by on, and still be as healthy and fit as I am, I would have said it was impossible and that they were just trying to sell me on the idea of surgery.....but yet it's true.

So true B

No one could have convinced me how little amounts of good food would satisfy me now.

I usually try for at least a four hour window between meals ... That seems to work for no PBing

It is the afternoons I need to have the time between meals AM Is fairly easy. Not too interested in food. A little Protein

Like I said. NO ONE would have been able to have me believe this 8+ years ago.... Keep going successful banders. I truly get a lot from this site thank you

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
