Surgery date 7/2/14, HW 282, SW 265, today 199! Progress has been slower than many of you but steady. I'm totally thrilled but my family and friends don't get it, so I'm thankful for this forum.

Random list of things I can do now that I couldn't do before:

- get on an airplane without worrying about the seatbelt or angry co-passengers

- park in a tight space and still get out of my car

- jump

- dance in public

- know that I can stop eating when I'm full

Looking for comments to help me Celebrate since I can't celebrate with food!

Yayyyy! CONGRATS!! And WHO says you can't Celebrate with food?? YES you can my friend, it's ok to be bad one day so long as you go back to healthy eating the next, you deserve it!! Celebrate also by getting yourself something new, in a much smaller size that you would have, as you WILL fit in it! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awsome!!

Congrats! You seem to be progressing about the same rate as me. Your surgery weight was higher than mine, but your surgery was exactly 2 months before mine as well. You've lost 66 pounds in just over 8 months. I've lost 48 pounds in just over 6 months. I've been losing about 6 pounds a month, so in two more months I'll be around 60 pounds lost. Keep it up! As long as the scale keeps moving down down down, we will eventually make it to goal!

Congratulations@@juliarg!!! And sorry, @@Comeflywithme, but I have to disagree with you about celebrating with food by being "bad" for one day. Too frequently that can lead to 2 ,3, 4... "Bad" foods are a slippery slope for many of us, best avoided until we've had time for our heads and bodies to get to the right place. Some can jump on and off the horse without a problem, but from what I read and hear, most of us get into trouble when we do that.

So,@@juliarg, for a reward, how about buying yourself a great blouse, or dress, or [gasp] even some nice underwear, that makes you feel good about your accomplishment? I bought myself one or two shirts and pants each time I got to a new size. Salvation Army and Goodwill are great places to get good deals on "transitional" clothing that you will grow through in a few months. I always find that wearing clothes that emphasize my smaller self is a great motivator! And take some pictures of the new you and compare them to the old you. Pretty great, right?!! And finally, make sure you identify with the new you in those pictures, and not the heavier you that you're leaving behind. That person is gone forever. Keep up the good work!!!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
