I'm curious about liposuction and the band....

Recommended Posts

I have not looked into it seriously yet, but I hope to have a Tummy Tuck when I reach goal. I also tend to keep a lot of fat in my tummy, inparticular above my waistline.

My question is to those of you who have had Lipo. Can it be done without hitting the port and tubing leading from the port to the ban? .

Do they go araound it?

I can't imagine this.....

My surgeon said that the tt can be done without even doing an unfill. He told me that even if the tubing was accidentally cut it could be easily repaired. Lipo, im not sure about.........i imagine it would be just like any other procedure, as long as the doc is careful and knows about the lapband process it should be fine. Id ask the doc though.

I just saw on the news the other day about a new procedure that does away w/the need for Lipo. They inject a substance using a needle that dissolves the fat. I wish I had more info. I can't even remember the name of the substance, but it may be worth checking into .. much less invasive than lipo.

Its lipodissolve, they've been doing it in Australia for a little while. I am seriously considering this, its supposed to be moderately effective and I have a moderate problem and its so affordable.

The substance they inject is a soybean derivative and they know its safe becuase they've been using it in cardiac surgery to clear blockages/plaque from arteries for a long time. It basically breaks down the fat which liquefies and finds its way into the bloodstream to be excreted, the fat cells are destroyed. You can feel a bit unwell I understand for a day or two becuase of this detox process, but it seems to have no longer term side effects and unlike Lipo it can actually help the skin to shrink.

I have never heard of this. Sound too good to be true. Thanks for the info.

My husband has done 7 treatments of Lipodissolve and it does NOT WORK. It is temporary fix and seems to lose a few inches but they just come back. I wonder if the Fluid they inject is just temporarily shriveling the fat cells?

I just had lip done on my back, stomach handles, hips and thighs last week on June 27th. I am up and moving around but it is a bit painful and the bruising was outrageous! The lapband was not affected at all, however it is a bit uncomfortable with the compression garment (full length girdle) seems to mess with my port a bit. I still have numbness on the outer layers of the skin but is very tender deeper in. I am happy with the results I can see now that the swelling has gone down some. The little stab incisions they make and tie with 1 stitch are itching now but that is normal.

I also had a breast lift with implants done. Wow, those things are heavy!

PM me if you need to talk.

Good luck!

Yeah, it does sound too good to be true doesnt it? I am prepared to try it on a body area for the amount it costs as I've had a friend who did get great result - but only on a very small amount of fat on her inner thighs. Theres no way it can match liposuction for big fat deposits like saddlebags. They "say" that it destroys the fat cells but obviously if you can regain inches, it hasnt done that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
