BCBS OF TEXAS

Anyone have insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas? Once submitted to insurance how long did you have to wait for approval? I am one appointment away from getting it sent to insurance for approval and was told insurance has up to 30 days to approve it. I really hope they don't take that long...or does it?????

In 2012, when I had surgery, it only took 5 business days to get approval. But, I had a co-morbidity - sleep apnea - that prequalified me for VSG. The person I spoke with at BCBS had had VSG surgery and said BCBS was very bariatric friendly.

Awesome! I just couldn't understand why it would take 30 days to approve if I have met all requirements! Hopefully mine will go over as smoothly as yours did!

Thanks for the response!

I don't remember exactly but it was less than 2 weeks. 11 days maybe. Good luck!!

Ok, I went back and checked and it was 15 days. I didn't remember it taking that long but guess it did. Hope you hear something soon!!
