Hi!

My name is Paty. I am a 36 year old single mom. I live in Parlin, NJ and I am trying to get the LapBand procedure done. My doctor is Dr. Morris Washington in Freehold, NJ.

I currently weigh about 280lbs (give or take that time of the month). I am 5'4" and have been overweight all my life.

I have gone through all the procedures, doctor appointments and got approval for the procedure in mid May of this year, but I changed jobs and I am just waiting for my new health card to come in so the office can ask for approval again.

I hope that I can get approval soon and embark on this new life of losing weight and being healthy for once. I am tired of being so big and uncomfortable.

I hope to meet new friends and learn new things and recipes. I am also very curious on the pre band and post band liquid diet.< /p>

Hoping here to meet you all!

Hi Paty

Welcome, I see that no one has responded to you. And was reading somewhere yesterday that there was a girl who never got responses and she felt left out. Your post is on page 2 - so it's not seen by everyone.

I am 52 - 5'3 244 live in Indio CA (my Dad was from NY & NJ) and have been overweight most of my life (skinny from 14 to 25) I am in the pre-band mode - have met with surgeon - now doing all the testing - I will have a complete physical - lungs heart boobs colon by the time all the test are done - Hope i pass them all - after 52 yrs of eating smoking and not exercising I may have some problems - but so far lungs seem ok (did that test yesterday)

This is a great place to gather info and get support - People are very friendly here and helpfull. Check out the post ask questions and you will get reply.

My best to you on your Journey to be Healthly - Cute & Slim :(

Hi Paty....I have no idea when you posted but after doing a little navigating on this board, I was able to find that you went to Dr. Morris Washington as well! I just started with him the 3rd week of January and have only met with Jessica the PA. I would love to pick your brain and ask you questions...have you had the surgery? Please let me know either privately or on board. Thanks so much and I am so glad to find someone else that is in Dr. Washington's care! Take care and hope to hear from you soon. PS....my name is Denise!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
