I had no gas pain at all. In fact I had little to no pain. I didn't even bother to fill the script for Vicodin on the way home. One thing I suggest you do religiously is use the aspirator. That gets your oxygen levels back to normal faster.

i am being banded on june 13. i saw my dr last thursday. she never mentioned going on a prediet. thank goodness because i am eating everything in sight. i want to have at least one good steak before i have this done. i already had two but they werent that good, so i gotta keep trying!! maybe i need to go to Mortons this weekend but i am not sure i want to shell out a hundred dollars for a steak dinner!!

All I can say is WOW! You are going to be sorry. They want you to lose weight (usually at least 15#) before surgery because that will get the fat out of the liver, which will make the surgery much easier for the doctor and for you. You might want to read some of the paperwork they have been giving you during all of this pre-surgery stuff. I would also call the doctor's office and ask them about a pre-surgery diet.

When you think you need a steak remember, it's not as good as you imagined and nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

I don't think you are going to be sorry at all--I never was and I didn't have a pre-op diet either. Some doctors just don't require it--my dr. really doesn't think that you can "shrink your liver" with a few weeks of diet and he's never had a problem nicking one during surgery. My surgery went well and was easy for both me and my doctor. Just follow your doctor's instructions and you'll be fine. Good luck!

P.S. And I did have "several" last meals including the day before surgery--my doc only required that I eat or drink nothing after midnight the night before surgery. That was it!

I am 8 days post op and my Dr has just said I can try a scrambled eggwhite or egg to get my Protein level up. I was having the same anxiety about never having my favorite foods again. I guess being so limited right now is the hardest part. Will life feel normal again soon? Or will a fill be the only help?:help:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
