I just want to say........

Recommended Posts

I just want to say what a wonderful group of people I have interacted with on this site. You are all supportive and helpful. No one has made me feel stupid for anything I have asked and everyone is so nice and polite. This is the only WLS site I have signed up with. Being only 6 weeks post op I have visited some of the other WLS sites to get information. I can't even believe the behavior on some of the other sites. A majority of the people seem nice, but there are some that are mean and rude. I was just shocked at some of the comments- WOW!

So, I just wanted to appreciate everyone here and say thank you!!

I think in order for all of us to be successful at what we are trying to accomplish, we have to be positive and have the right attitude and that includes encouraging others and being helpful. What goes around comes around! Keep up the good work and attitudes!

Awww that is so sweet. I feel the same way. I lurked for the longest time before joining. I wanted a positive, honest, safe place to come to and I feel I have found it here.

I think we have all been (at some point in our life) in negative and unhealthy places and know how that feels. And we don't want to be responsible for creating that negative experience for anyone.

I am so glad to Celebrate and contribute with everyone here. It is a safe place.

I agree! I am so happy to have found it! You know it's a great site when ALEX remembers your birthday! Or comments on a post you make! It's not just a website, it's a safe haven for many people who need the support, or want to give support. I have learned so much here. My surgery is not until the end of April, but I feel totally prepared for whats ahead for me, based on stalking this site and interacting with the folks already on the losers bench. I'll be there soon, and I hope I am able to be as helpful as the others here.I have my favorites (I'll admit it), and they bring me joy to read what they post.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
