  2. The hernias and scar tissue does not show up on scans. My dr just listened to my symptoms that ice had off and on for two months. Good luck. I know that pain is bad.
  3. Spinach, half of a banana, 1/4 of avocado, 1/2 cup of carbmaster milk, scoop of vanilla Protein powder It's so good!!
  4. I've been scheduled for hernia repair this week. What can I expect recovery wise? I saw my surgeon he ran some tests today and is scheduling surgery for Wednesday. I don't even know if I will be back on a liquid diet or mushy foods? How much time do I need off of work ?
  5. I use a straw occasionally. I don't have any problems. My surgeon never made a big deal out of it
  6. I would probably switch jobs by that's just me. I can't imagine being around food that much. I would just get sick from the smell. Good luck!
  7. Update?? I was told my pain is an internal hernia that occurs after surgery. I had my gallbladder looked at they might leave that but I go in this week for a repair.
  8. So my surgeon wants to go in and do a laparoscopic hernia repair from my RnY Anyone on here have to go through that? I'm looking to find out recovery time and overall recovery. My surgery was last Feb 25, 2015 I've lost almost 70 lbs. dr says it happens to some patients nothing I did wrong. any advice would be appreciated.
  9. I felt the same way at the 3 week mark. I started adding Matcha powder (green tea) to my shakes and that helped. But really it was closer to 2-2.5 months before I finally felt back to my old self. I stayed out of work for 4 weeks and was glad for the break.

  11. Hi feb 23 here. I'm down 50lbs. Almost off my insulin for diabetes and down 2 sizes in clothes. The weight is not coming off as fast as I would like. I not in the gym like I should be but I am very strict with my diet and Water. I don't know if it's good to lose slowly? Maybe I won't have as much sagging skin? I get in about 750 calories, 70-90 grams of Protein, 60-75oz of water. Prob around 20-25 grams of carbs, rarely any sugar.
  12. I take the flinstone with Iron chewable. 2 a day. They are small and taste ok. I take other vitamins but you were asking about a multivitamin. Good luck
  13. Hi. I'm about 12 weeks out from bypass surgery. I've lost 50 lbs!! Yay me! Anyway, I've read that the BC pill doesn't work the same1(99%) after surgery. So I am going to look into an IUD, but in the meantime I just have to say it's 100% true. My BC pill that I have been on for over 3 years is not working. I ovulated this month and my period came 14 days later... Luckily I am not sexually active. I am on the pill bc my periods are really bad. I tried to talk to my PCP last week and she said she had never heard of it but she also hadn't done much research on it either. So we decided to let my body get used to the weight loss for a few more months before changing anything. Well the last 3 days have been tortuous for me. I've not been bedridden like this in a long time. I can't imagine going thru this for another 2-3 months...? I'm thinking I just need to go ahead and make an appt to get an IUD and be done with this. Has anyone tried the patch? My insurance covers BC at 100%. I've read the patch is just as good BC it's absorbed through the skin and not the body. Anybody have any suggestions? I had an IUD many years ago. Had it removed BC we were trying to have kid #2.... And I've had 3 miscarriages.... Not sure if it's related or not but I am not 100% sure that I'm done having kids. Not currently in a relationship but the future is always on my mind. I know not to get pregnant for at least 18 months so I am trying to prevent that should I ever be in a relationship between now and then. Plus my time of the month is currently unbearable. Sorry about ranting.... Thanks for listening!!

  16. Left pic before surgery. Right side 8 weeks post op.
  17. Just had my 12 week post op appt. I told my dr the same thing. I've lost 45lbs... Which I'm not complaining about but I don't eat a whole lot, I drink my Water and in moderately active and it's just so slow moving. Some days I get so frustrated but when my dr said I can come off my insulin today.... The slow loss didn't bother me as much. No more insulin is a huge win. I'm doing something right!!

  19. Oh by the way... Call your surgeon you could be dehydrated. That can cause severe nausea and food aversion. It happened to me week 3 post op. I am almost 12 weeks out.
