Eharmony SUCKS! Class action lawsuit underway!

Recommended Posts

The people today that expect everyone else to accept them despite the harm on society that their lifestyle causes, shame on them.

I, and every freedom loving Constitutionalist resent and are VERY intolerant towards people that expect us to disappear.

Two questions, 1) what harm specifically does a "gay lifestyle" cause to society? 2)who has said anything about anyone disappearing?

Seriously?

The disintegration of the family.

Aids epidemic.

Health care crisis.

And yes, by denying a group of people their beliefs and way of life, you'd make them disappear. Thing is, if it weren't for the AIDs thing, and having to be force fed their lifestyle at every turn (witnessed by the aforementioned lawsuit, dispraportionate representation in the mass media, specialized legislation) I could care less what they do.

In our own company a few years back, we had to listen to a long presentation on how the company couldn't afford our defined benefits plan, mainly our health care. This should be near and dear to the people on this forum right? The footnote to this refrain of a sad sad song is that now, the company, bowing to the public relations Columbia University educated chuckleheads found it in their infinite wisdom to include "Partners" in the benefits program.

Direct effect on me, my wife, my family and all the folks I work with is increased costs, decreased benefits, and a greater risk to our livelyhood.

How have gays contributed to the disintegration of the family?

How have they contributed to the health care crisis? And are you aware of the many straight people who have AIDS?

Heaven knows that are PLENTY of dating sites out there and a good majority of them are targeted to specific audiences. There are gay sites, straight sites, big and beautiful sites, christian sites, jewish site... and on and on. I would rather invest my time exploring sites that I find interesting to me rather than wasting time complaining about sites that don't allow X,Y or Z.

Quite frankly, I'd prefer people got this upset over the fact that there are so many Americans who can't afford health care and a large amount of elderly Americans who can't retire because they can't afford to pay for their Rx medications.

That's my spin on things.

My head is exploding...

I was going to write a whole bunch of stuff but basically I just want to say you'll have to deal with gays at some point other than thinking they are a tiny minority...(commerce dictates what you see on TV and people want gay folk's money and that's 10% of the population...but I digress) When one of your children or your neice or nefew whom you love turns out gay you'll need to examine truely how you view the world based on bias and hate.

Tolerance is not a bad thing.

You think family values are threatened by gay people? How, exactly, do they accomplish that? Are they corrupting people left and right.....signing them up for the gay/lesbian lifestyle and luring them away from their conventional families? I don't think so. People do not "become" gay/lesbian at some point, and certainly not because some recruited them.

And adding life partners to the insurance plan at your work isn't the only thing that has impacted premiums. Are you equally angry at the smokers? And the people with body piercings and/or tattoos(increased risk of all blood-borne diseases). How about all the fatties? Obesity is way more costly to your employer (and you) than homosexuality. Besides....very few companies provide coverage for spouses/partners for free. Those people are forking over big bucks for the privilege of insuring their partners. What about the guy who has six children....he often gets a good deal because both he and the employee with a wife and only one child pay the "family rate". Are you mad at him, too? Nothing in life is absolutely fair and equitable, Porkchop. Deal with it.

Carlene, you go girl. That porkchop almost had me convinced at first that he/she/it was seriously concerned about bigotry and discrimination. Then I read the rest of his/her/its post. HA. Glad you set him/her/it straight!

You'll not see white entertainment tv. You'll never read about the white caucus. You'll never have a white pride parade. You'll never have a white history month. You'll never have a white suing the gay internet sites. This is how far we've come, and I'm glad for it. It's far past the time that people show the same respect for freedom of opinion and lifestyle instead of trying at every opportunity to degrade someone that does not hold their beliefs and lifestyle and allude that they're a bigot.

All TV is white TV. All history which is taught concerns the deeds and activities of dead white men with very few exceptions. This is why we don't need a white history month nor do we need white TV. Straight white Christian males have typically dominated the world scene. They have been - and generally speaking continue to be - the rulers of European and North American countries as well as the governors of the colonies of these countries and they have typically been the rulers of the financial institutions which drive the world. This is why we white folk don't need a Pride Parade.

Of course white women didn't fare quite as well and that is why there are special initiatives set up in order to benefit women, just as there is Black TV, Black History month, and Gay Pride parades, class action suits, etc. Yes, this is a form of reverse discrimination but you should think of it more as being like a golfer's handicap. This apparent unfairness may be required until the playing field has been levelled.

Here's the irony of it all, the gays feel that THEY should be able to make eharmony and it's customers believe in, and associate with them.

In fact, the gays, an extreme minority in this country, have far exceeded the reach of their percentages as far as special legislation and consideration for their tiny population. Watching American television, one would think that half the country were batting for the other team. Enough's enough.

You'll not see white entertainment tv. I say it's the gays and the American Criminal Liberties Union that are the thought police.

Martin Luther King had it all right. The people today that expect special considerations are being bigoted, discrimanitory, and exclusionists, shame on them.

The people today that expect everyone else to accept them despite the harm on society that their lifestyle causes, shame on them

I, and every freedom loving Constitutionalist resent and are VERY intolerant towards people that expect us to disappear.
Who's the intolerant bigot here? 'Tis you, Porkchop.

It's obvious you hate "the gays" and the ACLU (who defend The Constitution, by the way) and so I laugh when you call yourself a "freedom loving Constitutionalist". What rubbish.

How dare you mis-paraphrase MLK when it's obvious you don't know a thing about him -- just quit while you're behind.

How is it bigoted to expect to be treated equally and fairly?

You're just silly.

I have to agree with you, Elizabeth. Add to that my respect for good old American commercialism. It's a business, folks, not a public service. Is it any different from the women-only gyms? For that matter, how about the DAR....they won't let me join because I don't have an ancestor who fought in the American Revolution. Ditto for the Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. My pedigree does not fit their membership criteria, so they are allowed to exclude me. How is E Harmony any different?

I think we can carry civil rights, like everything else, to the extreme. And then we will find ourselves stepping on virtually everyone's toes.

Me too! There are so many things to get upset over!

eHarmony sucks, but it's always sucked, and there are so many great gay dating sites out there that it shouldn't be an issue. I think they just want to stick it to 'em.

Mate, Porkchop it is 2007 and not 1957. Families are diverse now. Why should a person's life partner be excluded from a benefits plan?

No good reason that I can see. That would be blatant discrimination, and that is not to be tolerated on any level.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket. I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
