all because I had pop :(

Recommended Posts

So, I had my 6 mo appt with my nutritionist... she has decided to not clear me to go onto the next step because I had maybe 3 sodas in the last month... I just have to get my head in the game and have absolutely no soda for this next month, so I continue in my progress... in the mean time I have lost almost 20. I am happy about that.

Good work out on the loss. It's a learning experience. Stay the course baby

I feel like that is a bit harsh. We all know we have to give soda up, among other things. It seems to me, that if you had 3 in a month, she should scold you, but not hold you up any more. The process of losing weight really seems to make food the enemy, and it isn't. Good luck on your next NUT visit.

That doesn't seem quite fair to me!! Seems very harsh, especially in light of your HONESTY and the 20lb loss

As swampdoggie said, just STAY THE COURSE, you are in this for the long haul so soon enough the month wont matter.

Are you post op?? You should be cleared to go back to a normal diet at around 7-8 weeks?

It does seem very harsh for having 3 sodas!

I am pre-op... I am during the insurance required physician supervised diet with nut visits. And because of the 3 pops, she won't submit everything to the bariatric team that my surgeon works with. Plus I am having a sleep study done on Tues (which that is a whole other subject).

Yep agree

Find someone else!!!! I drank soda right up until my 2 week pre op diet and was allowed 1 diet coke a day on pre op. I had a diet coke maybe every second day and never usually finished it. But have not had coke since 5 dec. Thats super harsh for you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
