Got banded in Springfield MO??

Recommended Posts

What WLS Expo on the 11th? Is it in Springfield? I would like to go to a support group meeting, but I cannot remember when they are in Springfield. Can anyone help me out with a date for the next one? I was given the info for the St. Roberts one since it is closer to where I live, but I prefer attending one in Springfield.

I have had two fills and am scheduled for a third on Tuesday morning. I hope it doesn't make me too tight cause I have read that is pretty miserable. Hope to meet some of you at a meeting if I ever find out when they are held.

The WLS Expo was at St Johns. They have it each year. It included speakers, Dr Cavanagh (new Dr working with Dr Edwards); Dr Shah, plastic surgeon and Lisa Rose, reporter on KY3 news and lap band patient. There was also a fashion show with several successful WLS patients modeling.

I've signed up to be in the fashion show next year, so I have a deadline to get to goal.

71 down, 70 to go.

Hey everyone. :) I finally have a surgery date. It is November 12th. It's going to be here before I know it. Although i'm sure the 2 weeks of liquids is going to feel like 2 years. THis is gonna be tough. How did some of you survive? Any tricks of the trade? :) I've definitely emptied the house out so there are no temptations. Got rid of all that halloween candy. I'm just going to keep my porch light off this year. I had my "last supper" actually last day of suppers LOL. Got my Gyros in, and red lobster's shrimpfest. yum :) now it's nothin but liquids and Jello LOL woohoo. I can't believe i'm actually excited about a liquid diet lOL

The first three days are the hardest. After that, you are not physically hungry. But, you still can have the "head" hunger, especially when others are eating in front of you!

Today is day 6. I didn't do so well yesterday or the day before, but so far today is not horrible. I miss food though. I so badly want to just go pig out and have one last binge, but i know that would be bad bad bad so i'm going to fight through it and just keep counting down to November 12th.

I hope everyone is doing great. :smile2: Hey, does anyone know when the next support group meeting is at st johns? I would like to start going to those.

Hi everyone,

I know its been a long time since I've posted anything but I've been really busy. I've got so much more energy now, I'm off all my diabetes meds. I've lost a total of 78 pounds (48 since surgery) and only have 27 to go to reach my goal weight. I actually get to shop for regular size clothes now, instead of plus sizes - didn't think I'd ever be able to do that again!! Those of you who are still not feeling much restriction, it took me 5 fills before I did, but then the pounds just started rolling off, I've actually had some people that do not recognize me. I hit the big 5-0 this year but I feel like a young woman again.

Lap Band is one of the best things I've done for myself in years - worth EVERY penny it cost!

I'm still looking for a support group near Lebanon if anyone is aware of one.

Good luck to all

Hey everyone. So far so good. Surgery date was November 12th. Today is day 4. I'm still pretty sore, but i'm up and moving around a ton, even driving. The gas thing sucks. And i'm soooo incredibly ready for real food. Today I had a starbucks coffee because i was desperate for something yummy, warm, and familiar. It was wonderful. I would still kill for a chicken mcnugget or meximelt though LOL. I can definitely feel a little restriction, at least I think that's what it is. It's hard to tell what the different pains are yet.

Anyway, how did everyone else feel after surgery? I'm curious.

Hi just wanted to let you know you WILL most likely be able to eat nuggets. U eat McDonalds nuggets all the time. Eating SLOW is the key. I have been throwing up alot cause i feel so sick after eating like 2 bites of food and thats cause i eat to fast and i dont chew enough and those 2 things will make it sooo much easier if u get them down. :smile2:

OMG Kimberly!!! You look absolutely fabulous! Congrats on making goal!! Things have been going a bit slow for me but you have inspired me to to get things moving again. I mean literally moving again...as I've told you before, I HATE to exercise but I need to get back to it. I was doing really well for a while and then I hurt my back. It has been hard to get back in the swing of things. I had my 6th fill last Monday. I was so swollen (fluids and such) that she couldn't put much in. It seems to be okay at this point tho.

It has been so long since I've been on...I think I will skip all the posts and start from here. :)

I'm glad to hear your mom is doing well too.

Would love to hear from you again!

Tabitha

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
