I have the same issues with my lower back, hips and knees. I am so excited that hopefully by losing weight I can get rid of some if not all the pain I have been in! One more reason to have the surgery.

My surgery is scheduled for March 3, 2015. I've been struggling with a bad hip and herniated discs for the past few months and am looking forward to some pain relief when I m not carrying so much extra weight.

My date is March 2nd too

I started it today I'm supposed to get 5 of these a day I can barely get 3 and, it has given me the worst gas already. Ugh. I've slept allot today. Also gave up coffee so I'm know that's not helping. But it will be better . I'll tough it out.

How are things going for you so far?

So I have to say I am not nervous about the surgery..at all. What I am nervous about is the liquid diet. For two weeks prior to surgery I am limited to broth, sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicles, one Protein Bar a day, and Protein drinks. My best friend went through this and she was starving. I am not looking forward to this part at all. I feel like this is going to make the two weeks prior just drag on. After my surgery I will be back on the liquid diet for 2 more weeks but I will not be allowed to eat the protein bar. Anyone else nervous about this?

I am a little - in two days I have to start with the pre-op diet which consists of 5 diabetic boost per day.

Awesome! That is where I get my Calcium chewy Vitamins from! I will have to take a look at those. Thanks Stacy!

@spicy06- My program wants me to use the Meal Replacement shakes. I used Bariatric Advantage. I think they have 6 flavors to choose from. You can order them online.

I had a stomach virus over the weekend so I'm just getting the 2 weeks in. I wanted to do it longer but I was gagging. I'm doing barbaric advantage only because my dr insisted(can you say kick backs boys and girls?) But if your doctor doesn't care id rather be doing the Quest shakes. I don't care for their bars but t the shake is great. I made a latte today. coffee and BA shake mix.

I am going through A Lighter Me and I started my pre-op diet today. This diet includes 2-3 Protein shakes a day and a sensible salad, with a source of lean Protein for supper. This goes on from pre-op days 14-3, on third day before surgery, I go to just Clear liquids, one of those days includes the day of surgery. I have spent a lifetime of being over-weight, I can easily afford a couple days of fasting...

Good luck to everyone!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
