That is odd. I hope it all works out. My SS Center called to pre cert me a couple days before and then confirmed my coverage before the procedure. Seems like that should be the norm.

I just want you guys to know how serious sleep apnea really is. A girl that is overweight that I have known since I was about 12 years old went to sleep one night and she did not wake up the next morning. She died from sleep apnea. She was married and a

my BMI is at about 38.1. I have my first doctors appointment/consultation on May 4. My sugars are good. I know I have high cholesterol, and blood pressure is good. I do have arthritis in my lower back around my L5 disc that hurts me pretty bad, including my hands and thumb. I also have planter fasciitis and Incontinence.

So basically I have no other comorbidity other than high cholesterol. Don't laugh at this but I have recorded myself sleeping. I snore wake up, wake up snore wake up, and it goes on. I wake up tired. Trust me I don't want to have sleep apnea but do you think that there is a chance based on what I am telling you that I might have a little bit. I know I don't go into REM sleep all of the time. I do have to take something to help me sleep and even with that I snore and wake up snore and wake up. My snores are not very loud. I used an app called dream pro in case you ever want to record yourself.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
