@@StephanieM thank you so much for the update. I had my initial consult on 1/28 and that was one of the questions I asked. " what hospital are you affiliated with" he stated that he used to work with paradise valley but was not happy with their patient care and was now working with st lukes. He did not mention that he was not contracted with them ( I'm not one for half truths) I kinda feel like he should have stated that. I'm currently in my second month of my supervised diet so if something doesn't change by the end of month 3 I will have to look for a new dr. I think it is very important to make sure whomever I am working with is organized and also someone I can trust.

@@newbeginings85 let me know if you need any help with finding someone if you choose to switch doctors. I am seeing Dr Juarez on Monday and I already feel so much better with his office staff.

@@StephanieM not long at all. After I was approved it took 1 week. I went Tuesday for the screening and the next Tuesday was surgery. Very fast. I love bridges and all the staff. The hospital staff were great. And very helpful

@@StephanieM thanks for the offer I will keep you posted so was he trying to push back your surgery date due to not being contracted? He told me he had privileges at st lukes. Makes me really wonder. Thank The Lord I'm early enough in the process I can switch without it being a hassle.

I believe he has privileges but he is not set up for surgery or have a surgery schedule yet. He also has a two page list of people before me cause he hasn't preformed surgery since October and I am not interested in waiting! You might be far enough out that it may not affect you;)

I live in San Tan Valley, AZ! I had my surgery performed by Dr. Juarez and Dr. Fang at St. Lukes in Phoenix on November 20th 2013 and I have lost 210lbs! (From 430 to 210 in less than 17 months!!!) :)

The cost. WLIA had a lot of extra costs that Bridges does not so the out of pocket cost for me at WLIA would have been about $3000-$4000 more than at Bridges.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
