21 lbs lost in the last 3 weeks

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on 12/29 and finally made it to my 2-week post-op appt, a week late due to the flu. I'm down 21 lbs from surgery, so things are going great.

It took me one full week to feel good again, although the first week was manageable. It was like flipping a switch. I'm having normal BMs and my doc approved me to start doing whatever physical activities I want, and soft meats such as fish, etc. My incisions also look great and are healing quite well.

It's important to really research your physicians and clinic. I started at another large place when I was considering getting lap band in late 2013. I didn't feel comfortable with them in the end. I decided to see the doctor who ultimately performed my surgery and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend him (Houston, TX).

Congrats on getting off to such a great start, even if it did involve catching the flu. I too am looking to get the flu, maybe I can drop these last 6 lbs. (just kidding :P )

Things will get better. You can do it. You can change. Move forward today, one small, but significant step at a time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
