We should all get a little fb group going for ourselves since we'll all be at exactly the same point :)

That's a good idea! Only 20 more days! I'm nervous but excited for the future! How about everyone else? How do you guys feel?

SUPER nervous!!! I'm scared that something will go wrong, and I'll have to go have something else yanked out like a gall bladder or something. I'm scared that I'll lose weight really slowly, or screw up what I eat and get sick, or any number of other things. I'm scared about people asking me, because I'm not telling ANYONE that I had it.

I'm afraid to tell people too. I have told a select few so that I have a good support team but some have already been unsupportive or haven't had anything to say to me. Most are happy for me but I just don't want the judgment. I've struggled for 8 years trying to lose weight. They don't know my story. I'm scared that I won't lose the weight :/

My doc isn't even requiring a pre op diet. I'm trying to put myself on one so I can get my mind around the liquid part of things...

My pre op diet is 1200 calories from now until 72 hours before surgery then for those 3 days I'm on a sugar free clear liquid diet.< /p>

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
