Accountability partner needed.

Recommended Posts

I am needing a true accountability partner. I keep fluctuating 4 pounds up and down. I have about 40 pounds I need/want to lose to be at my goal weight. I am 190 right now. I am 1.5 years post op and am ready to be in maintenance for the last time. I was happy where I have been and have been in maintenance for about 7 months. I am ready to complete this last stretch. I need someone that will help me stay accountable and on track.

I will gladly work with you! In fact, I needed the same thing and we've got a small group of us posting daily, at minimum, to hold one another accountable. I think it might work, just jump in with us!

Check out the thread:

If you don't want a group setting, let me know and we'll go another route. ;)

S_Suther I see your surgery was done by Dr. Bagnato. He also done my surgery in October. The best by far!

Yep, he did my band back in 2011. We lived in the Albany area at the time and Bagnato was the best around. His iffice staff was fantastic. It was not a good scene when he moved to Macon and left a bunch of us in a pickle though.

I thought he still hd an office down there and one in Macon. I live in Warner Robins but see him at his Macon office. Actually now I see the fill center.

He has an office in Albany, but to get a fill there it's $100+. If a patient wants the promised bariatric support and "free" fills, you have to drive to Macon. It's the hospital system's fault, not Bagnato's; but either way, it left patients in a difficult situation. I got insurance approval, which was a year-long fight, and had my fills at the bariatric center in Albany. Since I moved six months ago, I've heard the center in Albany had to close. I am glad to be out of SW GA for many reasons and getting support and care for my band is one of them. I wish you much success. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. B as a surgeon. :)

His fill center in Macon has fantastic staff and I love Miss his nurse. I can completely understand how everyone feels down there. I would have been very upset also. I wish you much success with your band. The more I see with ports on their abdomen the more I am thankful for my chest port.

I am headed to Macon tomorrow for a much needed fill. Can't wait. I am still in Albany, but hearing from people who have to pay $250 for fills makes it easier for me to just drive up there for mine.
I would be happy to help out with accountability, I need some too.

Dana

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
