Not trying to lose, but I am..

Recommended Posts

Hi gang!

Got to the green a couple of months ago. Finally, ya know. Well I ended up at goal in December and was told not to lose anymore.

Well in the last 5 weeks I have lost 8lbs. Not trying at all. Just physically cannot any more than I do. I eat 1 to 2 meals a day and a snack.< /p>

If I want something I eat it.

So everyone is on my butt since I am still losing. I talked to my nut. She is going to blood work when I come down next month. I asked her how many more calories a day I need to eat. She said 200 and gave me some ideas. I think I can do that.

She also suggested that doc my take a little out of my band so I can increase my volume just a bit. I can pretty much tell ya that's not happening. I'll get in the extra calories.

Bought 3 pairs of jeans last month thinking that I would keep them awhile, but they are starting to get to big. Anybody else have this "problem"?

No, but then I think I may keep my band much looser than you do! When I got to goal, I just started adding in little things like butter on my veggies, an extra small potato etc.. My band has never stopped me eating, I just relaxed my choices a little.

I had that problem too. I wasn't trying, but still kept losing. My band gets tighter with stress, cold weather and travel (flying) and I took 5 trips in 2014 and just couldnt' eat. I finally did get an unfill in October and have put on some weight. I don't like it but everyone else does. Blah. Now I'm secretly trying to lose those 8 lbs I gained.

Maybe a slight unfill will do you some good, but be sure you do it for you and not for anyone else.

Yes, I made several posts just like yours. Finally I went to my Dr. after losing 5 more lbs. and he put me on this machine calculated my current weight, entered my height etc. and it told us the # of calories I need to consume daily to maintain the weight I'm at. It produced my basal caloric intake needed for maintenance, (this number doesn't factor in any physical activity). Since having this target number and sticking with it I have maintained the weight I was that day for the last several months. You may ask your surgeon at your next follow-up with they have a tool like this. It really helped me eliminate the guessing and proves to be right on the money.

Good luck in your journey! You will figure it all out!

I am eating as though I was in the maintenance stage and almost didn't realize that I've lost another 10 lbs. over the last four months. I don't really worry since I'm eating well balanced meals. I figure the weight loss will stop when my body is done getting rid of what it considers excess weight.

I have a good deal of extra skin as well and I know that if I ever get plastic surgery, I'd likely lose both additional pounds and another size or two. I'm not ready to move forward with that yet, so I'm also not letting it keep me up at night.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
