Im currently on day six of my pre op diet, my doctor said to do 2wks but I started a week before because im afraid I would not lose the 10-15lbs im required. Im concerned that by the 3rd week im gonna really want real food before surgery. I need advice. Thanks????

You just have to keep the goal in mind! Use your willpower. It will be over before you know it.

I just started my preop diet today. I am scheduled for the 27th... I am already fighting my brain. My brain keeps telling me I need to eat... I am so hungry! My body on the other hand isn't as hungry as I expected to be. We can do this!

PreOp diet was just the beginning of the challenges for me! I had two weeks high Protein liquid with a lean and green dinner everyday until the day before surgery. The day before surgery I had strict Clear Liquids only and not to eat or drink after 10pm... I chose to do clear all day and went to bed early that night!!!

I would love even a lean and green meal at this point. 15 days of full liquid diet. At least I can say one down and only 14 to go!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
