Hey everyone---

I have a question. Did anyone on here lose a lot of weight on the liquid diet after the surgery, and then slow way down once they got to mushies? I lost 15 lbs. first 8 days, then have lost nothing? I feel like I am losing my mind. Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is a time to let your insides heal. The "pausing" of weight loss during these weeks is totally normal!

I'm not onto mushies yet myself, but I wanted to wish you luck! I'm sure you're doing all you can and will see a boost in weight loss soon. It could be that you'll maintain until you get your first fill. But I wish you the best of luck and success! :D

I think I'm calculating correctly that you have had your band for 11 days, right? So you haven't lost anything in 3 days. I really, really don't want to sound mean but I have 5 words for you:

step away from the scale.

I don't think watching the weight too closely is going to be healthy for you at this time. You most likely haven't even started a fitness regime yet. My Dr., and just about everything I have read about this procedure, says to expect a loss of between 1 and 3 pounds a week (and that's after you are properly filled). Give yourself a little time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
