I have been in a stall for way over a month. It's really piss

ing me off. I lost allot the fist month but nothing hardly since real food. I'm keeping the journal, trying to stay away from anything too carby. I'm stuck at 60 lbs down which is where I always got stuck even when I did it on my own. Which is starting to make me get those old feelings again...You know the why am I bothering feeling. That and I tried working out this past week and strained my back(it doesn't take much) and I can't even take ibuprofen or aleves. Tylenol does nothing for my back and on my good meds I can't drive on so I can only take them at night. It's annoying but I'm still fighting. I hate the taste of Water since surgery. But I still fight. And found out I still cant deal with tuna. So I have feeling lousy ate it this afternoon. Try again next month. Sorry I'm Debby Downer today but I just had to let it go

Don't feel alone I was at stall for weeks and I'm still only down 30 lbs . I'm having the hardest time , nothing seems to be going down and I just keep feeling "blah" as the days go by I feel like I'm getting more and more depressed. I feel like I Want to step down at my job and just focus on my health bc every day I'm sick. I'm getting in my liquids but I kno I'm not getting in enough Protein . I stopped working out bc I have no energy. Some days I can eat a little bit other days nothing. I'm about 9 weeks out now . Is anybody else going through this ? Any advice

Yes! I lost 8lbs on the prediet and 28lbs in the 8 weeks since. I'm 1/3 of my goal but this is where i always got stuck. I can eat anything which really pisses me off. I wanted to get sick if I ate something bad. Was walking some but major back pain, just read my preop xrays last week and found at least one of the screws in my spine is broken. Going for full xrays and bone scan this week. Frustrating! I have an appointment with a nutritionist but not till July.

@@purrfctangel our situations mirror each others! I seriously can eat ANYTHING!!! I hate it!! My restrictions s are super slow to react, so it feels like I can get In a lot of food before it actually restricts! I'm stuck at 200 exactly right now. Before surgery I was at 227 on surgery day I was at 222 and am now at 200. I hope that I start getting restrictions sooner and am able to get a handle on it cause it is really discouraging! GL!!

@@Loss78 I was 233 at my highest, 225 morning of surgery and 198 as of Wed. I did figure out that i need to be eating more dense food. My menu is usually Protein Shakes, chili, yogurt, scallops, tuna, Soup. I find that chicken, some rice, heavier foods do fill me more. I also have a nutritionist appt but not till July.

I feel for u I am in exactly the same boat! I am 67lb down and stuck!! Joining a gym today but I dunno if it will work! Got awful hayfever but only things that work knock me out and I have 3 kids to deal with all day! I used to love fish, now I eat it and I want to vomit, chicken makes me feel like it's stuck and I haven't even tried lamb, only thing that seems to be sort of ok is mince, but even that is horrible, I am in the UK so things are bit different here

Okay y'all had a Dr appt Friday and I'm down 11 lbs. Hang in there! Keep doing everything we're told. That stall was really depressing! But it will pass! Thank you all for being so supportive. Misery loves company but don't give in to the "why bothers"

I've lost 76.6 since my highest. And 63.6 since March 11th.

I've dropped 2 sizes in pants.

I lost a bunch at the beginning but has tapered off and I'm losing at a regular rate now 1-2 lbs a week. I did have an almost 3 week stall and then all of a sudden I dropped 10lbs in a week. So it made up for it!

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
