Plain yogurt = *gag*... Help!

Recommended Posts

The difference it if you look at something like FAGE 0% the ingredients are clean and basic; milk and active cultures. Compare that to Yoplait that contains: Cultured Pasteurized Grade A Nonfat Milk, Milk Protein Concentrate, Sugar, Kosher Gelatin,

Pectin, Lemon juice Concentrate, Natural Flavor, Locust Bean Gum, Vitamin A Acetate,

Vitamin D3.

FAGE also has more protein than Yoplait

While this is all true, her nutritionist's argument was flavored yogerts have more sugar and that isn't necessarily so!

You could probably add a tablespoon or so of skim milk to thin it out. Or, less pudding powder.

I like putting it in the freezer and getting something like a cross between a pudding and ice cream.

Ok Blerd I'm taking yah grocery shopping with me. You know the GMOs and read labels. I'm lost reading labels heck half the stuff is so hidden like MSG can be labeled spices! Wtf

I started eating clean as an act of self preservation. My allergies were out of control and I spent more time fighting and recuperating from allergy attacks than out and enjoying life. I also became a fat vegetarian.

It's taken me a long time but I follow really basic rules:

  • Bring a magnifying glass with you to the market
  • Anything that says,'light, fat free, diet' or similar is either lying or fake and heavily processed.
  • Try to buy foods that have 10 ingredients or less and/or do not require a science degree to understand the ingredients.
  • Avoid most foods that come in a box or a can.
  • Frozen foods with no additives are your friend.

Thanks everyone!

I think I may have mistyped - she said there are yogurts with flavors that are ok (brand and specific type escapes me right now) ... She meant my actual one I had (store brand low fat vanilla) had added sugars. :)

Yogherts to me taste like vomit but when the flavor of it is mixed with Protein Powder and strong flavored fruits, then I can drink or eat it by the bucket full. I don't know how to trick my mind or taste buds to like Yogherts by themselves. Then again eatting Sea food is the same thing. I'm talking about ALL sea foods. I just gag, I try to force myself but then I just want to vomit. I can't even go past or enter shops selling it because the aroma makes me feel like vomiting. Again how do you trick your senses?

Personally I think that's what this new lifestyle is about, finding ways to eat better and still enjoy it. Yogurt plus Protein powder is a great, protein rich way to start your day.

I don't believe in hypnosis to try the brain either because anything can be suggested and you wouldn't know or know what maybe happening while your under. I can only assume every new habbit takes 21 days, so maybe I need to have extremely small serves each day to get the taste buds moving?.

@@Bexsta everyone has different taste buds and it's ok to not like yogurt. I don't think you have to force yourself to eat it unless you just super want to eat yogurt. There are plenty of other nutrient rich foods with Protein out there that you will love, and you can always get Probiotics in other methods. =)

Kefir is one thing that people can try if they just hate yogurt, I do not suggest eating it without flavoring it, it has all the same benefits of yogurt and typically 11+ grams of Protein per cup.

I was thinking the other day of getting a jug of It and doing half milk half keifer in my supplement instead of just skim milk as per usual :)

@@MamaTo3inNH one of my coworkers swears by it, she was suffering from an intestinal digestion issue for years and taking meds, she discovered kefir and started feeling better, stopped taking the meds.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
